Readapting to Relaxation

So Friday was my last day and it was wonderful, well almost. My class and some of the international students we teach went to a bar. One of our teachers went also and it turns out I have tons in common with her. At one point she even asked me to hang out with her before she leaves Chicago but unfortunately I'm leaving soon. She is this amazing free spirit who roams the earth, painting, doing yoga, and teaching English in various countries. The bar we went to was a typical cubs sports bar-a "chad" bar if you will- but they had live music so it turned out to be a wonderful night. I will really miss the people from my class, I guess during all the stress we didn't realize how great of a group we actually had, or at least we didn't appreciate it as much as we should have until the end. The night wasn't all great though, I got my ass grabbed by one of the chads and my little feminist friend grabbed him by the shirt collar and got him thrown out by the bouncer...total badass, I like her a lot. Then, my coat got stolen and it contained my cell phone, keys, and cta card. The unfortunate turn of events put me in a bad mood but I had to chalk it up to, hey, at least it wasn't my wallet.

So now I am adapting to regular life again. I am adjusting well. My friend and I have had nothing on the agenda except drinking, watching movies, and making extravagant English breakfasts. Last night I think we freaked Alejandro out by drunk facetiming him and putting him on the spot with probing relationship questions. Also, a horrible movie to watch drunk is the 5-year-engagement. It is hilarious, don't get me wrong...but it hit a little too close to home.

So now that my friend is at work, I am committing myself to laundry, job hunting, and cooking. Off I go..

Check out our amazing English breakfast...
